And here is where Honda is in the el moto business:

It looks like they have a way to go before they will start to compete with the likes of Brammo or Zero

Looks like the first bikes Honda brought into the USA 1960's...Honda 50cc Cub!....fast forward 15 years later and they dominated the us market.

So true. History will probably repeat itself with the electrics.

"You meet the nicest people on a Honda". All kidding aside, of all the bikes I've tried or owned, I've been most impressed with Honda so far.

Honda could easily build a better bike than Brammo or Zero, but they're in the business of making money, and know that, due to the high cost of batteries, a bike like an Empulse or Zero which they could easily build for less, has no chance of selling in enough volume to make them even remotely interested.

No doubt Honda has someone watching the start-ups in this market...once they see a market they will pounce. Buy a battery manufacture, throw 10 million at R&D and release a top quality 100 mile, 70 mph bike for 6k. Electrics are just another market...no danger of hurting their sport or cruisers.

im a honda fan - the honda shadow in my opinion is the best motorcycle available - smooth riding and a sportster look... and unlike the cost of a virginia vibrator "Harley Davidson" the best value for the dollar...

just my opinion...

Yes, I believe so too, any large manufacturer can, the question is for how much?
They have come to the conclusion that an elmoto will not sell until it can be priced the same or only slightly more than it's ICE competitors. Based on the sales numbers from the few manufacturers in the market right now, they're right.

18.5 mph top speed? I'd much rather have a Go-Ped Hoverboard (http://www.goped.com/products/esr1000H/default.asp).
