As many of you probably know the Milan International Motorcycle Show (EICMA) is happening this week. Lots of you probably also know Zero Motorcycles is revealing their 2012 line up there. But there's so much more. A new post on AutoblogGreen (http://green.autoblog.com/2011/11/07/the-2011-milan-international-motorcycle-show-will-be-electric/) covers a lot of what has leaked out.

Besides the companies mentioned there, KLD Energies will have some sort of announcement, Vectrix is there as well as a handful of Chinese manufactures.

Even Hyosung is putting their little toe into the electric waters:

A bit of a plug for myself, but I have some posts with links to what info I could find on CRP's new street bike.

That Energica is really impressive looking. The question is how much will it be? And based on their specs, it should be quicker than their current race bike potentially. Very impressed with the elmoto showing at Milan so far.

Thank you. Eh, no worries. I've been on here long enough I feel I know the drill.

On related news I have 2 new posts. One with links to the bike's site and the english version of the video. And another is more of an opinion where I convert the stats into info us Americans can understand. I posted them last night and I've had another traffic spike before I even got up this morning.

It would seem KTM is a little behind the curve. They are coming out with an Agni powered bike, just as Zero is dumping brushed motors, although, admittedly not on their dirt bikes.

Damn. That is $20,400!! Oliver Kuttner claims he can produce the Edison2 eVLC for that.

Of course, he hasn't...yet...or I would have one. :-(

I also see that KTM stuffed a 350cc IC single into the Freeride chassis. Apparently they are covering all of their bases, just in case electrics don't sell that well.

Just wanted to add that if you look closely at the Zero S gallery you will notice that they are using what appears to be a Motoenergy (Mars) Brushless motor

Look at the last page of studio shoots you'll see they are using this motor http://www.motenergy.com/me0913.html

Here is a link to a cool video of the Freeride E showing more stunting than I would want to do. Below it is another video showing the Freeride 350 IC version in action.

If you could get a head on shot of CRP's bike, and see if the Empulse they have there has a transmission on it as well as a passenger seat and pegs, that would be awesome!

Does Honda have any electrics there? Just saw the HFL post on them.

Wow, that Honda is stunning! Great lines. It's about time they start getting in the game, though I'm sure it will be a while before anything like it is available.

The Husky shown here is pretty cool too.

Here is another article describing the Honda RC-E. Note that it uses the motor from the firm's Insight hybrid car. Too bad it is only a concept. I wish Honda had the balls to put it into production.

It sounds like there are a number of new electrics. Great :-) I am curious as to a count of how many models use a transmission. You could check that for me, and Ted.

Sorry for reading only now your post , but AFIK Empulse still the same as last year , no trasmission and no passenger ( lack of passenger is one of the reason why I will not buy an Empulse ) ... Long time ago I started a thread on a Guzzi forum searching for an alternate Tail assembly for having a 2 people Empluse but this modification will never be street legal so I just stopped searching and start waiting for a better bike

Transmission is used only in Brammo's SMRE derivated model , the supermotard and the offroad

Yes , I checked and is a Mars DS , Zero is using 3 different motors on their bikes , the MARS DC , the Agni and another motor I can't recognize

No worries about pics, I am sure the show is awesome and you are having a blast. From both when I talked to Brian at Miller and from their website the Empulse is getting a 6-spd transmission. That is the reason for the year delay. Also, it was let slip on facebook that the Empulse will be coming with passenger pegs and seat. But I am not sure it has been confirmed yet.

Ted, from what I understand the RC-E and Honda's other electric stuff will be at the Tokyo Motor show at the end of this month.

Speaking of Honda electrics, I hear that they will be removing the spare tire from their new cars and replacing it with this. :D

Milan International Motorcycle Show epic electric wrap up

This is a great summary of the bikes. Among other things, Shelina Moreda unveiled the CRP Racing Energica.
