World famous engine builder Mugen has confirmed that it will be participating in the 2012 SES TT Zero race.

That is extra cool looking.
I love the carbon frame and swing arm but am disappointed they did not make the swing arm pivot concentric to the output shaft of the motor.

Did I read the specs right? It's weight is 260kg? Isn't that heavier than the TTXGP limit of 250Kg?

I think the TTZERO limit is 300kg. It certainly was last year.

Ok fair enough I didn't realise there was two different set of rules, but they could save 10kg off the battery pack for the standard races if they wanted.

260kg, Yes. The IoM TT Zero limit is 300kg still.

Electric motorcycles can be quiet, but under full acceleration they produce a great sound. The Mugen sounds fantastic - I suspect the sound of the electric motor will be something the big OEMs put some thought into.

Oh Yea! Looks like Mugen will have to prove itself at the TTZERO race. I really like how they use the electric motor housing as a point for the rear swing arm.
