While this might seem like a subject that doesn't belong on the El Moto forum, this article by Visor Down discusses the way the California EPA determines the weight of a vehicle for their evaluation of its emissions. That discussion I found very interesting and is something that I was not aware of. The EPA uses the total inertia of the vehicle, instead of just its weight, and includes the rotational inertia of its rotating parts. See this short article here:

That is interesting Richard. I wonder how the EPA "weighed" Zero and Brammo bikes.
