After a year and a half of riding it was time to do a battery inspection and
add the last of the batteries I wanted to add last winter.

I pulled off the main box (18s5p) of batteries expecting to see some corrosion since
there are steal straps and battery ends.

I was very surprised since I had gotten stuck in a few good downpours as well
as one "gully washer". Everything was clean as the day it was installed. A quick check
for any loose bolts and it was reassembled.

The bottom second box was a different story. It was one of the original Headway boxes
and was fairly dirty on the outside. This one is sealed better than the main box so it
should be spotless. Nope.

The insides were fairly clean but rust as started to get on a few straps.

A good time to change it out and add more POWER!

A pyramid of power?

 you said once about the size "length" of the bolts you are using to bolt down the bus bars - was that 3mm long for a 1/8 inch thick bus bar???

:p i know i should know that, but im going to ACE Hardware tonight to get 150 bolts for my headway cells and i just want to be sure on the length...

 Cant wait to see the new battery pack your building...

I will have to check on the bolt lengths I have. You do NOT want to go in too far with these batteries.
6 mm come to mind. According to the manufacturer, 6MM is the MAX you want to go into the cell.
so a 6mm or even a 8m with a washer and 1/4" bus bar will work.
I got mine from Fastenal.
