Or you might get pulled over and then have two more squad cars called in as backup to check out your motorcycle......

Unfortunately, my covert picture could only get two cop cars in the frame.

Fun quotes
Cop: Do you know why I pulled you over?
Me: Actually, I have no idea.
Cop: Your taillight is out. What kind of motorcycle is this?
Me: It's a 1978 Suzuki GS550.
*Cop stares at me*
Me: Well, I mean I've made some modifications.....

*Second squad car arrives*
Cop 2: And what were you doing?
Me: I was doing science, sir.

Did they shoot you? Cite you for excessively noise pipes? Ask you what Gang you are in? :)

Since I coast the motorcycle and now the xebra A LOT I always wondered if local police would think I have a faulty stop light.

One thing I did add was the Stop light flasher. A small 20$ device that makes people see you much better. Works great...so far.

Here is one for LED lights Stop Flasher LED (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Brake-Light-Attention-Flasher-Module-Stop-BACK-OFF-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3cae6c3f99QQitemZ26062 4367513QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories)

and here is the "regular" one. Stoplight flasher (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Brake-Light-Flasher-Module-Car-Truck-3rd-Stop-Lamp-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2307f8cc1fQQitemZ15045 7601055QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories)

I like these because they are fully potted (splash proof) and you can adjust the flash rate and time.

My brake light is not out, I just never bothered with a running light since I only ride in daily light. Can I just run a parallel circuit to the bulb for the brake with a couple high W resistors to lower the luminosity of the light?

You have to have running lights in the day time?

All we have to have is the headlight on 24/7 (While riding)

No, but that's why they pulled me over, I have the 24/7 headlight. :D Would the parallel circuit with resistors work for the running light?

Not sure. Never tried that.

If you have the two lamp bulbs, you should be able to just tie it into the "low" side of the bulb....or am I missing something?

The only light that would fit my cafe seat was one filament, if I run a parallel circuit with some high watt resistors, it will definitely lower the current, it's just the resistance as a function of temperature that's throwing off what I should order.

Good luck.

I like the kiss approach....get a different lamp holder

Or fit some bright red LEDs in the space around the bulb inside the lens, and use them for the running light, leaving the bulb to come on with them for braking.
