Hummm.

Mission Motors, down but not out?

They let a great many staff go, I thought.

Very curious.

I'm disappointed that it doesn't look more like their first concepts.

Asphalt and Rubber seems to have sources that a previous investor has come back to Mission Motors to get the R into production along with a couple of other models. Seems encouraging.

Yeah, the A&R story is pretty much speculation... here's the story: http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/rumors/mission-motorcycles-teaser/#more-42772

He's got his "sources", but it's speculation nonetheless.

Speaking of the world's fastest production electric motorcycle, what is happening with Lightning Motors? Have they sold any of their bikes to retail customers yet?

ttxgpfan (jazclrint) interviewed Richard Hatfield a few months back. Mr. Hatfield mentioned that there had been one sale of a Lightning superbike and another (at the time) was under discussion. There's been no press releases (though Lightning has never been press-heavy), so sales are probably not (yet) what most people would call brisk.

Where has mission motors been in the last few years? If I can recall they went on creating components for vehicles (auto) and put the bike in the garage. If a company wants to have support from a ev enthusiast, why have they not made an effort to create a product for the masses?

Maybe a little more info will arise before the "big day"

Definitely interested in hearing what happens here. Though this would make at least a second major pivot in their business model in a pretty short period of time.

Always excited to see new ElMotos though, and mission has quite the pedigree. :)

Domenic does his usual great work here: http://green.autoblog.com/2013/05/08/mission-motors-teases-street-legal-electric-motorcycle/?a_dgi=aolshare_facebook

A good, coherent history at the least.

Here is the latest about Mission Motorcycles production model plans: http://www.wired.com/autopia/2013/05/mission-motorcycles-rs/

I'll bet Jay Leno has already put down a deposit.

And here we have another longer article discussing Steve Rapp's ride on the Mission R, including a video and a photo of the race bike and the 2014 production version:

Here is a review of the Mission Motorcycles RS by Motorcycle.com:

It looks like a wonderful motorcycle and I love the detailing, but it is a tad out of my price range.
