Glad to see all of you clever people on this forum! I'm the founder of Big Blue Saw. We've been mentioned around here at least once (see http://elmoto.net/showthread.php?3496-NEMA-C-interface-for-motor-mount , for example), so I figured I would stop by and find out what you people were up to.

Our customers typically make things like motor mount, brackets, bits of linkages, baseplates for attaching electronics, gears, and occasionally entire electric vehicle frames ( http://scolton.blogspot.com/2011/07/tinykart-round-1.html or http://zeept.wordpress.com/page/2/ , for example).

I've built plenty of fighting robots (for Battlebots and similar competitions) and other electrically powered stuff, but I'm not an electric vehicle builder myself. So I'm trying to find out a little bit more about the field. I do have a lot of experience around designing and making parts for waterjet and laser cutting, so please let me know if you have any questions about getting things done with those technologies.

By the way, we're having a sale this week on aluminum and stainless steel for those of you who might want to check us out.

Aluminum 6061 is a great material for high strength, while still remaining light. Stainless steel is stronger, and looks prettier.

Read about it on our website. (http://www.bigbluesaw.com/big-blue-saw-blog/general-updates/stainless-steel-and-aluminum-savings-august-20-22.html)
