I don't think the researches think that. The study summary says e-vehicles are cleaner. The guy who wrote the article for Visordown says diesels are better.

I guess I was fooled by the article's summary. I am pretty sure that if you figure out all of the energy and environmental steps from extracting oil to shipping it to the refinery to producing diesel fuel with a similar analysis to producing electricity, electrical power is cleaner and less costly. But that takes a complicated and thorough scientific study, produced and funded by a neutral party. Neutral researchers are getting harder and harder to find, nowadays.
