An AP article in my newspaper reports that Ford introduced their Focus plug-in on Friday at the Consumer Electronics Show in LV. The car is expected to go up to 100 miles on a full charge. Ford claims that the Focus can be fully charged within 3 to 4 hours using a 240 V outlet - twice as fast as a Leaf. They also claim that the vehicle should have the same energy efficiency as the Leaf.

Ford says that the Focus will have a unique, Microsoft-designed (:O) powering feature that will charge the car during off-peak hours when electric rates are reduced. It also has a touch screen with information such as the amount of charge left, the distance to the next charging station and the amount of gasoline saved.

If you ask me that last feature seems a little gimmickry and I am not sure about playing with a touch screen while you are driving.

There are some really good you tube videos about the car, and how ever single one sold world wide will be made here in the USA.
