The first electric Smart car in the country was delivered at 3pm today to a friend of mine in Silver Spring, MD. It was cold and wet out, but still a very exciting moment. Roger Penske himself showed up to ceremonially hand over the keys. After a few photos, a truck took the car to the DC auto show where it will be much more pleasant to view and discuss.

We tried to get one, but none here in SC. Wonder why???

Probably bc there is no charging infrastructure in SC?? That's why most EVs (leaf, volt, smart, etc) are being released in select citys. I believe that they put the vehicles where the charging ports are being built because this makes it look like an EV is a perfect fit! Not that I dont believe this myself, but it givens naysayers one less thing.

Too redneck-y?

I think they are rolling it out in certain markets first before offering it everywhere.
