As above, batteries do have a finite cycle count; but by that same notion, the only way to get value from the thing is to ride is - so simple answer, charge as much as you need to in order to use it as much as you want.
That may sound like a cop-out answer, but your ride style and terrain will determine the endurance on any given charge cycle, so it is a very individual thing.
Thanks for your great response Spoonman. I think your suggestion help me a lot. "

" Hi all
guess its time for another update.

Weather has not been too favourable to ride lately so got some little tasks finished:
Replaced front break pads
Changed front wheel bearings
and adjusted the handlebars more to my liking
upped the controller to 75% and now i can get it to take 21KW . As soon the batts are fully run in....
Had it up to 120 kph but the chain oscilation at that speed prevented me from going faster.
Guess i will do a 14 tooth front sproked soon ..

AND finally on friday my charger arrived

as the wiring sheme was way off the manual it took me till yesturday to get it to work
(had to confere with some of my more electronic-educated friends- not to blow it up)

So as of yesturday evening this is a fully usable day to day ride.

Since changing the bearing power consumption has dropped to aprox 4,2ish KW at 80 kph and 6,3ish at 100 kph. on a flat sretch. Who would have thought.
Uses about 0,67Amphrs per km of mixed riding in the countryside, mainly flat, lots of villages unlike in the US for example.. equalls about 1amphr/mile

Whats left to do?
well i still have to figure out some chain tensioner as the oscilation that sometimes ocures gets on my nerves..
probabnly find a space to mout the charger on board so i do not have to carry it in a case or backpack...

" Welcome aboard dude.
Ducati frame is a good choice for what you've outlined, although the Leaf cells for that sort of power in that low capacity not likely so much as their discharge rate is somewhat limited.
Custom cylindrical build may be a good option even if it's a lot of work as it'll leave you more options wrt shape - it'll be more expensive mind, and will require more regard for thermal constraints.
I'd abandon the notion of 50kWp in your first build and opt for something in the mid-high 20's TBH. The way that EV's deliver their power is fundamentally different to ICE so the peak output isn't as big a deal as you've got the torque all the time in any case.

I've a pal working with the council on the energy side of things in Durham, he keeps trying to tempt me across - will be sure to look you up when I make the hop. "

How many times you charge/discharge or cycle it will have an eventual accumulating effect on its longevity, but the discharge of the pack can destroy it if you go too low
