" Breaking on the negative pole has the potential to induce an inductive response on the upstream side of the circuit if you interrupt while there's significant current flowing.
As such I wouldn't recommend it.

Breaking on the positive pole on the other hand basically leads to brownout in the downstream systems which definitely preferable.

If you're stuck with breaking on the negative pole then I'd put in some appropriately rated clamping(TVS) diodes to in there so that any such spikes don't exceed the ratings of any other connected hardware. "

Version 2 will be very similar. But I'll be using Vee Rubber monster tires and have a battery with a 10c rating. Current battery is 60amps which is a little limiting. Just a question on BMS circuit breakers. Will breaking the circuit on the negavitive wire damage the controller? Kelly Controller manual state "Ensure that the B- wiring is securely and properly connected before applying power. • The preferred connection of the system contactor or circuit breaker is in series with the B+line." I do notice it says preferred. Inbuilt BMS / Battery pack units disconnect via the negative wire so Im assuming it wont cause a problem? I just dont wish to damage my new controller. "

" Damn that thing looks sweet!

I've used Zeva (Aus) and Orion (US).
Would happily recommend either. "

" I was drawing up my circuit for the next bike with a Kelly Controller. The Controller wants the circuit breakers and contactors fitted on the positive wire. The BMS unit breaks the circuit on the negative wire. Seems a bit of a wiring contradiction.

"Ensure that the B- wiring is securely and properly connected before applying power. • The preferred connection of the system contactor or circuit breaker is in series with the B+line." What's the reasoning behind this as it doesnt apply to the BMS? "

Looks better than a Cybertruck thats for sure. Im still waiting for better batteries before I buy one, but the tech is impressive and done right in my opinion.
Oh, and the "Sea of Tranquility" is a classy touch. Very cool design idea. "
