Got the bike on the road a few days ago and it is incredible fun to ride. So much torque/pickup. Still working out how I am going to finish the fairing, but having an absolute blast with riding it...
Prototyping the battery fairing:

The revolt had a custom shaft and the keyway was .003” too narrow, so had to take it to the machinist to correct. But here’s the plate in place alongside the newly connected battery stack.

Thanks Tyler
Here’s the finished motor plate with the revolt attached. Will get this and the handlebars and controls on the bike tomorrow after a good pressure wash to get all the old grease and...
Fabricated the housing for the controller in the space where the airbox/filter used to be, and conforming the design to employ the existing mounts. This will eventually offer some storage space...
Great to see you digging in on this project. The process itself seems enjoyable, not to mention the satisfaction when it is complete... that will be immense I’m sure.
Thanks Tyler! Battery terminals will have busbars nuts and nylon caps. Then a cover for the battery cage (can i call it a fairing?) I will fabricate out of 16ga sheet, with a layer of 1/8” ABS and...
Views of the battery cage showing the original motor mounts in use with no modification to frame. Front bracket was simply flipped upside down to accomodate the 23s. Top two bolts were previously...
I said Lipo but meant just the Li-ion 18650/21700 (lithium cobalt, i think. not lithium polymer). The 21700 are a more recent tech, slightly larger and more power dense and will require fewer...
The stock gearing that came with the bike is 17/38. For the chinese motor manufacturers that operate at higher rpm I would have needed a lower ratio (smaller front sprocket and/or larger rear). ...
Hard to tell from the pics and the acronyms (2t, 4t, rhs..). I would advise against keeping an SVT (i got that one) for small machine where space is the real premium. You can sub out a clunky svt...
Thanks Tyler. I think maybe Thunderstruck turned me onto this outfit: ...
Here is the battery cage w/ spare side panels fitted. Need to finish fabrication of controller housing (within the side panels) and then I can paint the cage and housing. Motor mount is at the...
Funny you say that, as it relates to my above mentioned opposition to any actual permanent modification of the frame or anything else for that matter. The build is such that I could put it all back...
The link to the ones I purchased now redirects to a slightly different model, same supplier, but you may have to just scour AliBaba for the one's that work best for you. ...
Finished fabrication on the battery cage.

Thanks! Here’s the link: http://www.revolt.org.il/
The power density in these motors (outrunners!) blows away the chinese bldc/pmac specs that I have seen. The build quality is at least...
Hi Tyler
I saw some of the controversy over the Revolts over on ES but some of that is old and the latest iteration (E series) seem to have addressed issues. Was originally looking at AC induction,...
Hey all,
Great to find this community here. Am making headway on the conversion project I’m working on, a 1972 Honda CB350F that I picked up in January. Spent the first couple weeks on design...
