    Spaceweasel's GSX-V

Bike ABE.jpgI'm calling this stage ABE- all but engine. I've taken all of the extraneous ICE components off the bike. Looks like I will have to remove the frame rail to get the engine out, unless someone else knows a better way...

Just bought Ted Dillard's "From Fossils to Flux". It'll give me something to read when it gets too dark to work on the bike!

Yup, that frame rail will need to come out. It's just a few bolts.

It REALLY helps to have the chassis supported on something other than the kick stand. Swingarm spools and a rear wheel stand is ideal. I got a stand off of Amazon for like $30 that works fine, and spools are cheap.

The small investment will save you hours of cursing (because the bike will want to move around and fall over with just the kick stand).

I was looking at a motorcycle lift (like this http://www.harborfreight.com/automot...ift-94715.html) as it would also be nice to get it a bit higher off the ground. Thoughts?

Yeah, those are really nice to have. I think I got mine at O'Reilly auto for about $50 (on sale).
