Upgrading from CALB SE40 to Leaf cells

So I picked up 11, 60ah Leaf Modules to upgrade my bike for more range. I currently get ~30 miles from the SE40's (could squeeze out more but I stop at -32ah). My cells have about 4000 miles on them and ~ 170 cycles. This weekend I set them up in 4 cell, 12v blocks to test their capacity after 4 years use. With a 1C load I STILL get 40ah (stopping at 2.8v per cell). Really impressed with the quality of the CALB's, if I didn't get such a good deal on the Leaf cells I would have gone with the CA60's. As for the upgrade, I've got the battery frame welded and fitted. Disassembled now for weld grinding and painting. Should have it ready for next weekend.

I have been wanting to do this as well, but have not found a reliable source for the cells.

Ed, I got mine from HybridAuto in Vegas. He gets them in from time to time. It appears he has some now.... Phil

Yea, I have seen his stuff. Not sure if they are load tested or not so you may want to check them first and
give them a good balance charge first ( I am sure you know that)

Been wanting to do a LEAF battery swap for a while. I have some very tired Headways, but they keep running.
I have abused these for some time now. (Drag raced, road raced and fun on the local streets)

We bracket race a LEAF now. I have been looking for a good wrecked one to cannibalize. Fun Stuff!!

I've bought Leaf modules and a Volt module from HAC with nothing to complain about. All cells were completely balanced, and staying that way.

I am in the market for 1 Leaf module..... in case anyone has an extra they want to sell for about $120 shipped. TX USA.

Same here, all my 26 Leaf modules performing very well, no prior top or bottom balancing. I would buy again.

I charged mine to 88v, 4v per cell....they all hit 4v within 2-3 minutes of each other! Since my controller max's out at 90v. I plan to charge to 88v, and discharge -50ah max. As long as they stay balanced I won't bother with BMS. I would buy from HAC again professional, promptly and carefully packed & shipped.
