    All flights grounded for fog!

For those who have been on Mars with Elon Musk the last few days, Terry and Bun Bun have suffered about every heartbreak I can imagine, when trying to set a record. Ran out of juice, and pushed the bike for two hours, charged on 120 volts, got stopped by another wreck, and now are socked in with fog in Texas. Hell, I didn't even know they had fog in Texas! :-(

To top that off, he had a large SB120 anderson connector melt while doing some uber-high-power charging. It's funny to think Terry charges at a rate higher than the power most folks emoto traction motors can handle continuously.

When I saw him earlier this year his tires were bald, but they looked like the stock IRC Road Whiner rubber hoops to me.

I'm sure Terry has my charging rate beat by a mile. Just curious, what charging rate is he at now?

Transportation has gotten far too complicated. This has gone from tragedy to farce. I am sticking to my electric assist bicycle.

That doesn't look or sound very good. I believe that I heard, when Zero had the original wandering encoder "glitch" in 2012, they had a very difficult time getting their Sevcon controllers' programming corrected to solve the problem. I think the Sevcon is a great controller - as long as you don't need to make any changes to its program. Maybe it is time for Terry to give up on a cross-country record this year, go back to square one with a 2014 chassis and motor, and give it a try next year. Perhaps the ElMoto gods will be smiling then.
