    New 60kwh Leaf battery?

    http://www.autoblog.com/2016/06/20/n...e-leaf-coming/

It's hard to tell from the article, but is Nissan just stuffing more batteries in the Leaf or have they increased the power density by nearly a factor of 3?

Sweet, Looks like the energy density increased to match competitors. Question is if they'll be as cheap as the old leafs. I wonder if this change in energy density will make them less safe than the current ones.

Does anyone know if Nissan proprietary owns the rights to the battery chemistry? I heard LG makes their cells. If we track down who is making these cells maybe we could just buy the batteries directly.

I mean hybrid auto center has to be getting these batteries somewhere, and they're getting them cheap enough to sell them at profit!

Very cool, I am glad they updated the design. The only thing I didn't like is the self drive, don't need it, don't want it.
Current R1200RT, previously FZ1, HawkGT, Nighthawk 650, XS650. Loved every single one of them, now it's time for an electric bike!
