    Can't charge the bike anymore

    hi guys,

Saturday i could charge the bike, no problem, sunday went for a ride, did not touch at all the configuration of BMS or charger or anything, then sunday i cannot charge the bike anymore. The amps just don't go through, no error message on the BMS side.

It's a TC charger i bought last year, never had any problem.

The only thing i can see is the LED on the charger goes red-green-red, then 5 sec pause, then red-green-red again. According to TC manual, it says overcharged.

My battery voltage is 101 volts. I checked my Orion BMS, everything seems fine, when i switch on the charging mode, the proper output is displayed in the BMS, no error message. But the charge does not start. I'm using the CAN mode.

So tonight i decided to try my previous charger, Eltek, so i changed the BMS configuration for Eltek, sent it to the BMS, then restart BMS, no change, i still cannot charge my battery, no error message.

So maybe the problem is with the BMS ? I made a few printscreens so that you can see more details, maybe you can see something wrong:

I also show the CAN messages and the live CAN data. I'm not an expert on this but is it possible that the message/byte giving the maximum current to the charger remain at zero ?

Not sure if the problem is with the chargers or the BMS, or something else,

Pretty annoying now that the weather is warm enough to ride

Charger is probably seeing an open circuit as the BMS is not closing the charge safety relay.

You're not getting message 18FF50E5 back from the charger which means a bad CAN connection. Check wiring continuity.

    Shame on me

It was indeed just a bad wire on CAN low.

I must say for my defence that the blinking LED on the charger sent me in the wrong direction, and the zero CCL byte on the CAN message.

    Anyway, it's working now.

Noah, if i had to pay you a beer each time you got me out of trouble, you'd be alcoholic by now,

    thanks a lot,

    Hugues
