    Agni Motor short brush life?

Cruising down the highway at 65mph last Friday I suddenly lost power, no bang, no burning smell. I pull over check fuse, contactor and power to Controller. All looks good. Call a tow and suspect the Altrax SPM72400. Next morning I plug in the usb, all looks good. Pull out a 12v battery, put the bike on the center stand and energize the motor....nothing. Pull off the brush cage and wow...4 out of 8 brushes totally gone on positive side! 4 on negative side have about a quarter of an inch left! I only have about 3000 on the new motor, I would have thought the brushes would last 3x that? So now the search is on for spare brushes, not easy since the Agni motor isnt carried by EV suppliers anymore. Good news is the armature looks very good.

Wow, $250 and 3-4 weeks for India! Maybe time to go brushless!
