    Transmission (2004 k1200GT)
    1st gear: 2.05
    2nd gear: 1.60
    3rd gear: 1.27
    4th gear: 1.04
    5th gear: 0.90
    6th gear: 0.82

    Final drive (2006 K1200S) 2.82

This should give me choices from 5.78:1 to 2.31:1.

What are ElMoto's thoughts on the Curtis 1231C-8601 paired with a Warp9?

You'd be better off with a smaller motor and bigger controller (ex. Z1k). It really depends on your goals. Also, while the tranny idea is neat, unless you're racing it's not really necessary. Then again it's not that big, lol. Have a look at the ImPact 9 also.

The transmission is mostly to connect the motor to the shaft drive, while achieving both offset (centering the motor) and the appropriate reduction. The ability to change ratios is a bonus.

I'm not familiar with the Impact 9 - do you mean the Impulse?

Yes, a smaller motor would probably be more efficient. But it wouldn't be as interesting.

Cut down a K1200LT bellhousing to connect the motor and transmission.

    Connection spacing issues

Ideas? The Lovejoy L110 jaw connectors I got are huge. I hadn't counted on the extra spacing. The L95 I picked up to check sizing are the right size but are underrated for the torque. They make a size in between, but that means they will be slightly too big AND slightly underrated.

Here is the drivetrain mocked up into the frame w/ suspension. Not having final spacing on the connection between the motor and transmission shafts makes me nervous about front wheel clearance.
