The bellhousing comes from the previous generation of K-bikes. This was a natural fit with the transmission, as BMW used the same unit for many years. The motor side is almost exactly the same size as the 9.25" Warp9 motor face, although the holes are in different places. The actual connection between output shaft and trans input shaft is with a lovejoy-type coupler with a Hytrel spyder. The idea is (from front to back) motor mount plate / warp 9 / motor mount plate / bell housing (surrounding and protecting the coupler) / transmission mount plate / transmission.
Of course, the current bell housing doesn't fit with the current transmission, so back to the shop...
