Hey Travis ... received everything today. Thanks.... looks like a FUN project beginning!!

A few questions for you now that I have everything to see how it will fit...

#1) Can you provide some schematics for the harness so I know what wires go to what? Also, can I shorten some as this is way long?
#2) Can the Sevcon heatsink base be removed so I can drill and tap? That would make install super easy!
#3) Any info yet on cooling the ME1616? I can't find any info anywhere on the internet. I think some guys are cooling with transformer oil instead of prestone.

    Steve,
    1) Working on it. I just need the color code from my assembler. I'll add it to the harness page. The schematic is going to be almost exactly what is in the Sevcon user manual.
    2) DO NOT remove it, or drill or tap. It should be mounted to something else.
    3) I will work on getting that for you.

(Also, it's best to just email for support questions, I don't always check forums. Can submit a question here: http://www.emf-power.com/support/ )

They recommend 6 liters per minute. Water is OK. Glycol is best (Retaliator fluid). The gasket is made of silicone rubber.

See my product page on the motor for more information and a link to a recommended pump:

6 L per second sounds wrong to me. Are you sure it's not 6L per minute?
Dragsters are running electric coolant pumps at 20 to 36 gal per minute through a full 22" radiator.... that translates to 1 to 2 L per sec for a racing FULL BLOWN dragster!!!

I know it's not comparing Apple's to Apple's, but these all state around 12 to 15 L per minute...with the max being 50L/min...
I can't even get a data sheet from Motenergy for the ME1616. What gives?
I just want to be sure I wont damage the motor. I'm thinking 6L/sec is max the seals can take, which is good info to know. I just need to know the min requirement. I think I read somewhere that the motor can be operated without any coolant at a reduced power output. But any coolant at any rate will be better than no coolant.
What is the Sevcon parameter set at for motor temps? I know that it monitors this.

6L per second is roughly 90 gallons per minute. That's the volume of water we run through our inch and half fire hoses when fighting a small fire. Probably 6l per minute

Sorry, it's 6L per minute, Typo. I was doing too many things at once.
