    Combo fuse/shunt?

Does anyone know if it's possible to use a main fuse as a shunt to measure amperage from? That would utilize one less part and also give an indicator to whether or not the main fuse has blown. Thus fuse has two holes all ready for the shunt lines to be attached. Has anyone tried this with any success?

Shunts are very closely tuned/ground to have a very specific resistance. I doubt you'd be able to get a consistent resistance across a standard fuse. Just use a shunt.
