    Your "OTHER" projects

So, I know lots of us have little projects outside of the EV world. I figured I'd start a thread to share some of mine that I've completed over the years (aside from the eVFR and Kart). Please post some of your own! I'm interested in seeing other projects. I actually created a website for some of mine:
    http://excessive.engineering/

Here are some of the projects I've done:

    - Upgraded my Smoker to have a PID temperature controller in it after the thermostat failed

    - Built a Virtual Pinball Machine (40" LCD in the playfield, 28" in the backglass, computer inside)

    Video:

    - Converted a Temperature chamber to a kegerator (Raspberry Pi, SSRs, etc)

    - Built an Electric Brew system controller for my fairly extensive brew equipment:

    NICE!

I'm only involved in one "other" project at the moment, just a little side thing of starting up a makerspace. http://thebrickyard.org/

Just got about $56K in backing for a grant application we got in last week. Takes up some of my spare time... like about 50 hours a week lol. Actually think we may find space and get it funded within a month or two. As my 24yr old son tells me, "one step at a time, Dad, one step at a time..."

Awesome Ted that it's moving along. Good luck with it. Anything besides that motor you're working on lately?

I've gotta get the bike presentable... we have to show off something at an event coming up in August. I have a new pack, but haven't got it mounted (or anything) yet lol. I'm thinking we need more power tool racing, though, too! http://elmoto.net/showthread.php?t=4657

Travis, I didn't know you were such a MAD SCIENTIST! LOL
Right now, my conversion is taking all of my spare time.... I do have a real job that pays for everything, but I'm on call for work often and makes it challenging to get anything done.
I have plans on learning how to integrate a solar system into a charging station. Then I will make a modular, mobile, covered bikeport that can be easily added to convert to a charging covered carport.

I also built an electric fishing kayak. P7160085.jpg

I did a solar thing with a similar theme - this was a trailer-mounted "solar generator".
