So I have been swamped with school, making movies and work lately, so I apologize for not being around. Ok, stop yelling, I get it.
Anyways, what (if any) changes do you feel need made to the site?

Hey Mike, I'd like to see the Elmoto News section less prominent on the home page. IMO it makes the site look kind of like a news aggregate and not a forum. I also think that the Recent Posts section is great but becomes less useful when there is alot of quick conversation within one thread. Maybe there is a way to change Recent Posts to Recent Threads, so you can quickly see more active threads.

Yeah, there's this weird thing that goes on with the News thing too, you can't really get to it to comment. The only way I was able to workaround it is to search the title of the post. I'd do away with it altogether.

when I initially go to the page, it doesn't show me as logged in, it has never worked for me on multiple computers, mutiple browsers. It only works when I click on something, and go there. Then i'm logged in.
Also, on the main page, where it shows latest posts, when you click on the link, it takes you to the first post of the thread... It would be nice if it took you to the last post of the thread instead.
I second doing away with news section, just have a news related forum area.... that works best.

More contrast between the text and background in reply/post boxes would be a big help for me, especially on my phone.
Free beer for any user who's been around since the elmoto 1.0 days would be great, too.
Also it would be good if you took a moment and knew that we really appreciate that you've provided this forum.

That would be awesome.

Click the little blue arrows icon next to the time stamp for the home page, or the orange square on the 'latest posts' page.

Moon,
not seeing what you mean.
I mean the hyperlink should go to the last post, not the first..... afterall, it's the "latest posts" section on the front page.

Changed from 10 to 1. The rest is going to take a bit of time.

Ignore what all these idiots have been saying. I rarely go to the home page, so I couldn't find the Buckeye's article at first. All I usually use is the New Posts function which has the Last Post link as moon points out.
Bunch of rank amateurs when it comes to message baords.

Could the restrictions on attachment sizes be loosened/ made less inconsistent. The last time I tried, I was allowed 19.5K for images and 97.7K for zip files. So I could have a 19.6K JPEG image which would be rejected as too large, but I could Zip it, probably into a larger Zip file and then it would be accepted.

I would like a feature where every time you post, you have to drink.
I would also suggest that Ted's posts be randomly translated into Esperanto.
Other than that, change text color to white in the reply box, and fix the thing Travis was saying where you're never logged in when you go to the site (even on the same machine).
And thanks for all your hard work...seriously. It's a great forum.

I thought Ted's posts already were in Esperanto.

Agree with the suggestions said by everyone else. The biggest peev with me is that article links that take you to the home page and show the story really small on the side.
Thanks for such a great site!

Travis, this is just a matter of changing your General Settings: scroll down to the "Thread Display Options" and you can change the display order to "Linear - Newest First"
frodus

No, I like how the thread displays, oldest to newest.
I just wanted the hyperlink, on the homepage, to automatically go to the last post, not the first. I missed a button.... all is good. Moon found it for me.

It seems the color on the reply boxes has reverted again to black on dark grey :-(
It's a white background, until I click to type on it, then out go the lights (in Chrome, MSIE and Opera).

Billmi,
I'm not having that issue. Can you post a screen shot of what you are seeing?

Can we get an open forum to talk about non-ev related stuff. No politics or religion, of course.

I am not sure whats going on. I just tested it on OSX using Firefox and Safari, on Windows 7 with IE8, Chrome and Firefox and on Windows XP with IE8, Firefox and Chrome. No issues other than the login windows are very faint.
Can you provide screenshots?
update - the faint login issues have been corrected.

These reply windows are all screwed up for me. Dark, then light, then bounces, then overlaid on top of smiley faces.
billmi

When I tried last week, it was the same in Opera, Chrome and Firefox on Win7 Pro 64 bit, as well as Opera Mini on Android.
Can you provide screenshots?
Shots are attached. The box is white until I start typing in it, then it switches to dark grey. It's doing it in search, title, quick reply and full reply boxes - and the full reply boxes get the smiley stack hovering over the text, too.
I also noticed, while attaching the screen shots (in Chrome on Win7 Pro 64 bit) that the pop-up inside the pop-up for selecting files to upload displays the filenames and sizes in white text on a white background - which is readable if you click-drag the mouse over it and highlight the text. That one's pretty fun, it's like making invisible ink out of lemon juice and milk, then discovering the secret message by heating the paper with a toaster :-)

Assume you are using the DarkVision style? The Default style seems to be working OK.

Yep, I'm using Dark Vision which is set as the default style for the forum (i.e. I didn't select it). I'm with Travis on the aesthetics of the style named default.
