zerous replied to the thread Hello from Finland and a question about ABS.
" According to this wiring diagram ABS is a separate unit 49. http://www.deltasign.de/moto/gts/GTS1000_SHALTPLAN.jpg

Maybe you can reuse old wiring, but i think since ABS unig take kn signals from tachometer it can be challeging to make it work. "

Mattson created the thread Hello from Finland and a question about ABS.
" Hi folks actually been registered for a while but been away for a long time since my previous plans to build a homemade e-bike fell through. A couple bikes later here I am again with a question.

Ok, now my current plan would be to e-convert a Yamaha GTS1000 because of it`s weird frame so I`d basically have a rolling chassis on which to build whatever I please, but the problem is the GTS has ABS brakes. Does anyone here know if the ABS system can be separated and made to work standalone`and what all parts I`d need to save from the bike? The ABS pump naturally but what makes it tick? Where is the brainbox that controls it, is it a separate unit or part of the ECU?

Thanks for any tips on this! "

jhaggerty created the thread 11KWh 115V battery pack $1500.
" Located in Sn Jose CA, this 7 module Gen 4 leaf pack has seen little use only between 20-80% and has a BMS. You can see where it was used in my build thread about the electric RF600.

Selling because I now own an Energica and I know these could be put to good use in a project. From my anecdotal testing these have near 100%SoH.

Would prefer not to ship, but will deliver within 5 hours of San Jose if you live near good camping, climbing, or rock climbing!

" Our home built (not the frame) project drag bike with used Chevy volt batteries finally broke 100 mph with a pass last night of 102.81.
Not the fastest bike out there, but still a fun ride at the track.

" I'm a husky ICE fan... but ya I agree not too exciting. However, it looks like they are on board with a standardized quick change battery module.
I still think batteries should be part of the competitive nature of racing so that we get better batteries sooner. The race team with the best batteries WINS! "

" Finally some news from Honda. One "urban" electric motorcycle, a couple of scooters and one "fun" model. Nothing sounds too exciting though. And you may have to wait a few years to buy one: https://electrek.co/2021/04/26/honda...ext-few-years/ "

Stevo replied to the thread Newbie in the UK, possible EX500 conversion.
" Welcome!
True, lots to learn.
Personally, I don't use a public charging station as the nearest one is at a mall about 25 miles away from my home. My bike has a range of 40 miles so its possible I suppose, but my charger is too big to mount on the bike itself, so I just charge in my garage. I really only use the bike to commute to and from work, about 5 miles round trip, and an occasional 30mile blast around town or running errands. "

niggle created the thread Newbie in the UK, possible EX500 conversion.
" Hi all I am new to the idea of converting a motorcycle and have no particular knowledge about the electrickery involved, but have dabbled with ebike s a little bit, i.e. converted a couple of bicycles using a kit and did some minor tweaking. I am in the UK and have a 1996 Kawasaki GPZ500S (identical to North American Ninja 500R) which I am pondering converting. I am encouraged by the high number of EX500 conversions that seem to have been done by others. Obviously I have tons of questions and equally obviously I will do some serious searching on the forum and elsewhere before asking too many daft newbie questions (starting with my question about maximum charging rate using public chargers, in the appropriate sub forumj.
