All yous guys have cool, tidy 3D models of your projects, my jealousy (and Noah's motor mount thread) is forcing me to get edjamacated.
After using Autocad, Autocad Inventor, Alibre, Rhino and Solidworks (took two terms of solidworks classes at the college), I still find myself using sketchup to do everything.
And now that the 2013 version added solid tools, and section slice views/2d slice .dxf exports, I can actually use it with the real world. I don't think I have opened Autocad to build a 2d .dxf in months.

Keep it up, and if you need help with anything, shoot me a PM.

Is this the paid up version of Sketchup? I would love to be able to export DXF files directly from Sketchup, rather than open them in TurboCAD (which blows, by the way) and save them as DXF files. I'm still limited to 2-dimensional CNC type stuff, so maybe the full version does 3D exports compatible with other CAD programs?

...Am once again CAN/Arduino Enabled. This time with my Sevcon Gen4 controller. I finally had some time to write some code to send and receive CANOpen messages (SDOs only for now), and put my Arduino based EV logger with GPS back together. WOOOOOOOOOO!

How's your sketchup tutorial going? I'm self-taught for sketchup and can do a bunch, but once the drawing gets into lots of curves, i'm lost.

Spent the weekend tearing apart the old engine from the GSXR. My mom (an artist) and I had talked about making things from the pieces. Between the previous crash damage, the stripped bolts, and my lack of knowledge about such things it took longer than it should have but we had fun and didn't bust too many knuckles.

Start my new adventure as "self employed". I've been thinking i have a startup idea rattling around in my noggin for the past couple of months, so i'm gonna give it a shot. not having a paycheck is a little (ok, a lot) scary...
