    heeeeeewwww, i'm excited,

    bike shop owner was discussing my bike with registration office yesterday, (no bike, just my operation manual and discussion),
    all went well, they will actually come to the bike shop to see my bike over there, how cool !
    Then we will bring the bike to them for a test ride,
    and then it seems i should get my license plate !
    can it be this easy ?

    that'd be cool !

    i know im jumping in late, but WOW, the high tech functions are awesome. What really grabs me is the amount of detail you put into it, a very beautifully awesome motorcycle...

    i can only hope to get my projects, that clean - well done...

    First real road test today, with a garage license plate:

    max speed 61 km/h
    avg speed 31 km/h (yes, i like to take it easy)
    A max 221 Amps
    V min 74.3 volts, that's 2.65 volts avg per cell @28 cells
    25.57 km ride with lots of stop and go, all flat road, outside temp was around 10 C
    consumed 1540.3 Wh or 58.9 Wh/km
    The pack is 10 kWh so on paper that gives a range of about 170 km if i'm not saying something stupid
    My objective with version 1.0 was to reach 100 km range, looks like it's quite possible, even at higher speed !
    (bike weight is between 320-350 kgs) +75 kgs driver
    Temperature side is all ok i think, battery pack stays around 15C, controller reached max 25C, motor went up to 57 C.
    Motor heat could become an issue during summer and riding uphill i guess, we'll see this later.
    I can make it easier for the motor by increasing the ratio from 3.07 to something closer to 4 or 5.
    But with 26 tooth sprocket on motor (80 on the wheel) , the bike is very silent, compared to my initial trials with 13 on the motor.


    All in all i'm pretty excited, cool to ride, attracts lots of looks and questions.

    So the bike is ready to present to the inspector, soon.

    why no helmet ?


    motor temperature it may be an issue but I think you should go fot at least a 1:4 reduction

    but after all nice to see you running

    Yes, i think 20 on motor side will be a good compromise between lower noise and higher torque. I shot at 26 first, it's easier to shorten my chain then to lengthen it.

    Are you going to Stuttgart on May 31 st ?
    My plan is to be there, i should have the bike registered by then.

    That thing is just awesome! I've been following your build for about the last year or so. Great to see it in action.

    I'm working a a bike that should be similar in weight and maybe size and I'm also using the AC 20/Curtis 1238-7601. I've been anxiously awaiting your numbers on temperature, load and range. Please keep posting them as you get more data.

    I've run calculations trying to predict range and performance so I'm really curious to see how your setup does. I'm using a Moto Guzzi shaft drive rear end with an 8/37 (4.625) reduction. I don't have any numbers yet until the first ride. I'm almost to the "90 percent done, 50 percent to go" stage. I hope to ready for a test ride in a couple of months.

    Got an appointment booked for monday march 17th to present my bike at the vehicle registration office !

    Yikes !!!!

    I might actually receive my license plate on that day
