I have the Kelly hub motor and Kelly 48V 400A contoller. At 72V, yours should be quite a bit faster. The rear disc brake is really awesome. It's quite strange to ride a Vespa with good brakes and with the weight centralized rahter than hanging off the right side. My bike is pretty low budget, but still a great deal of fun. I have not updated the page lately, but here is more detail for you: http://www.evalbum.com/3896

Greg - Sorry we have hijacked your post - I hope it is close enough to topic to be helpful. I have not hidden the battery on mine. The Headways are in a box still mounted on the floorboard. I have wanted to keep my pack modular so that it can be removed for charging and security. I have as much in the battery pack as in the bike. The next step for mine is a drivetrain swap. My ultimate goal is cruising at 40mph with at least a 15 mile range, and I do not think I can accomplish that with the Kelly setup I have at 48V. I recently picked up an Etek style motor and an Alltrax controller that I hope to put in soon. With theth appropriate gearing, I think it should be possible.
As for the battery pack, I also want to keep it swappable to other machines, so I built the box with the appropriate gages and plug ins. I hope to build a light cafe racer on an old Kawasaki G4 frame, and I have a few other Vespa bodies to build. I love the riding, but the building keeps my brain happy.

    Yes please more pics!

Also it took me a while to find a decent looking 12V DC horn for the Vespa ... this might be useful

You'll need to cut off the tabs that are riveted on.
