I've read all the posts but I am unclear exactly what rules you are referring to as there has been an awful lot of crap going round for the last year or so.

Would be good to pin down what is actually being proposed, including the 'paying for' bit, as I suspect so much of it just isn't what's going to happen.

uh... he quotes the reference in his post. What, again, are you unclear on? Maybe I'm dense, or maybe you should be asking jazclrint?

I'm unclear about where the concept of paying to use the rules came from.

I'm unclear as to the basis of anything remotely related to the 2014 season or stock, other than not modifying the Motor, Controller, Batteries, Frame and Swing arm, in what was said.

I'm unclear why anyone is making their 2014 plans based on a brief conversation with Azhar back in March 2013.

I'm hoping someone will come up with something more concrete from a more recent conversation other than some brief idea that perhaps nobody is even considering any more or perhaps it has moved on to the point where the above points are irrelevant.

Personally I would suggest you forget about worrying which rules you are going to run and get out there to find a sponsor for a potential series then you, and I mean that collectively as the US manufacturers and riders, will have the final say in how things progress.

I also REALLY suspect it isn't going to happen. Ha ha ha. If you think you are the only game in town, then you think you can charge for whatever you like, including a set of rules. Unfortunately for them, they are not the only game in town when it comes to being able to race an electric motorcycle. They saw that some of the racers were starting to go out to club races with their electric bikes and they saw what they thought was an opportunity to make more money.

I don't think any of the racers are making plans based on that March conversation. What I am referring to as far as what future plans I, and many other electric racers, am planning is based on current info. Like I mentioned a few comments back, we are working on getting more electric bikes to races and building a good solid foundation of racers. As far as I'm concerned there is no eRoadracing in 2014, we are doing our own thing.

That's the bit I don't understand. It's not mentioned in the original post of Richard's site from March 2013. The first I had heard of it is the mention in his post on this thread. Has it actually been mentioned anywhere?

We created a class in the UK back in 2003 for SV650s and similar bikes. We wrote the rules, got a club to back it, etc. but without people turning up it was nothing. It went on to become the most successful new class in the country and is still running many years later, is run at a number of different clubs and has well over a hundred riders competing in it. Any thought of profiteering from it at any point would see it dead in a second.

Have the eRoadRacing/TTXGP guys got nothing to contribute at all? Might it be useful to catch up with them to find out just in case you are both working towards the same goals and are approaching the same backers?

Yes, indeed it might. Unfortunately, they don't seem to respond to any requests for "more information" as far as my experience has shown. Last I got from TTXGP sources was that they were trying to keep their heads down and "play nice" with the eRR guys, and that was months ago.

I don't know how anyone racing could expect to attract sponsors with no ability to confirm an actual race schedule, do you?

There's a whole bunch I don't understand about racing, though, that is clear...

Clearly my info is old, but my point was that even back in March we knew there wasn't going to be a NA eRR championship. It was supposed to be an eSS, and NA only. My beleife was that at the time the TTXGP was going to offer a per-organized series that Club organizations could buy into and avoid having to figure out themselves. But it is a free market, and if the product isn't compelling then it won't sell. The TTXGP's communications officer is finally back in the office. Sound's like he has had a really unfortunate month. I will try and get an official word from him.
