    I apologize

I made a very irrational posting the other day regarding a former member of the site and I have to apologize to everyone here. I also must apologize for deleting a huge number of very important, educational posts. In my rush to remove the member, I overlooked the checked box asking to keep his listings as a "Guest." I ****ed up and I admit it.

I created ElMoto as a place of learning, and it has to stay that way. Thank you to ____ for reminding me of that.

In this uncivil wild west anonymous internet, I applaud anyone who stands up and apologizes unreservedly not just for their words but for their actions. It makes for a nicer place.

It was just something that needed doing. My old boss used to go around telling everyone to "own up" and to take responsibility for their actions.

Is there any way to recover the posts from a backup? Or recreate from Google or archive.org cache?

Ted has a bunch of them archived and accessible on his blog. Whether those could be used to recover the threads on the forum is another question.
