Yea you may be harlan especially if they are going to make a production run of bikes considering the EV1 isnt in production. My only thought is that they have a lot of expertise on the controllers side so i believe they could really get the most out of the EV1.

But i would have to lean more towards the new motor approach. Wonder if they are sticking with an induction motor? mission is using one...

I can see it now, one rider calmly walking towards another and out of nowhere *bam* smacks him with a 4" thick rule book

My thoughts exactly. Hatfield could only have so many of those EV1 motors lying around and they are planning a production bike.

I wouldn't get hung up on race vs. production bikes unless it's a homologated series. I doubt he'll go with the EV1 motor simply because it's big and heavy.

Lightning and Mission should go into business together

but i'd prefer more competition. more and more I see this year as the year for electric motorcycles to gain some legitamite footing. Instead of people doubting the bikes and being shocked by their performance. We will see more people being surprised by the innovations.

Ok ill put it this way. Instead of knocking people of their seats, we'll have them sitting on the edge of them in anticipation!

Thanks Frodus. Now I can wait in great anticipation, and not anguish.
